I know every year there is debate as to whether a pet should be purchased as a Christmas gift. We have all heard the sad stories of animals being surrendered after Christmas to animal shelters. What we do not hear about is the large number of people who have receive a pet for Christmas and enjoy many years with that animal because a lot of thought and time was taken before the purchase was made.

Traveling safely with your dog
One of things that I love about owning a pet store is meeting the dogs that people own. Dogs are always welcome in our store and I have noticed that many people in the Highlands bring their pet into town with them. One thing that does concern me though is number of pets that I see in cars that are not restrained.Traveling with an unrestrained pet in your car is not only dangerous for your pet but it can effect your concentration and could seriously injure you should an accident occur.
